A New Team Is Born

The Start Of A Brand New Team

For 6 years now Minuteman Disaster Response has had its focus on serving first responders and victims in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.  This mission has kept the team’s focus on the first 72 hours after a disaster by serving affected communities in a variety of ways.  Our Rapid Response Team has centered its training around Search and Rescue, Incident Command Structure and Emergency Medical Operations.

In the summer of 2016 our leadership felt the need to launch a new arm of MDR, the Relief Team.  This team of trained volunteers will be coming in after the initial response and will be providing assistance to communities with property clean-up, distribution and other needs that might arise.

On Saturday, we hosted our first scheduled training event and had a good response.  We will continue to recruit individuals, churches and businesses to get involved in this voluntary effort to assist others in a time of need.
