Over the last several months, Minuteman has been meeting with emergency response leaders to identify skill sets and competencies that will enable MDR Rapid Response Team (RRT) Members to become more valuable assets to local law enforcement agencies. We have been focusing on the area that we feel least acquainted with, Lite Search and Rescue. One of the core tenets for this is knot tying. Team members who have shown proficiency and were active participants during monthly trainings were invited to participate in a low-angle rescue training event this past weekend. The Rescue 1: Rope Rescue Awareness & Operations course was presented by TEEX and hosted by the Nevada Volunteer Fire Department.

A special shoutout goes to Todd Sexton, Ben Hudgins, Joesph Brewster, Pat O’Riley, and Alex Christenson for their dedication and participation in taking the Rapid Response Team to the next level!
